QUOTE OF THE WEEK "THERE ARE PROFESSIONAL THIEVES QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"THERE ARE PROFESSIONAL THIEVES EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD, SOME ARE JUST PROUDER AND MORE BOASTFUL, LIKE SPOTIFY. DID YOU KNOW ON JANUARY 1, 2024, SPOTIFY WILL NO LONGER PAY THEIR PUNY ROYALTIES FOR MORE THAN 62% OF ALL STREAMS?" PAPA B.

Spotify has announced that in 2024 they will no longer pay out on any song with less than 1,000 streams. This is a song specific new policy.

Spotify spin doctors say “there is no change to the size of the music royalty pool being paid out to rights holders from Spotify”.
Really? You cut out 62.5% (Spotify estimate) of artists payouts and there is “no change”.

So, if one of our songs gets 2,700 streams you will pay but if my other 3 songs get 900 each (2,700 total) you will not pay on any of them. The top artists, less than 0.2%, will be paid more as will any labels but there are no specifics on this. They are already paid more per stream but that will go up.

And users will lose basic functions on the platform if they do not upgrade to ‘premium’.

See the obvious? It’s why the founder was a multi-billionaire after a short time… it’s all about the money. They could care less about the artists.

Spotify Motto = Pay less and charge more !!!
